Charles Jin: Co-President

Hi! I'm the founder and co-president of Bobtutor and have recruited many high school students to become tutors and grow the organization. I enjoy coding, like to develop apps and video games, and research AI. I hope to help connect and improve communities around the world through technology. 

April Gong: Co-President & English Team Leader

Hello! I am currently a sophomore in high school. I enjoy art, coding, and spending time with friends. Being a part of Bobtutor has allowed me to build connections with people from across the world, as well as develop communication and teamwork skills. From my time in this program, I've been able to witness a great deal of growth from both tutors and students who learn from one another, gaining perspective and stepping out of their comfort zones in the process. I also lead Bobtutor's English branch, and I look forward to working with and meeting new people!

Richard Bai: Vice-President & Math Team Leader

My name is Richard Bai, a sophomore in high school. BOBTutor has given me so many beautiful experiences in helping and working with others. The work, no matter how difficult, is always rewarding because I know it will always lead to a result that is beneficial to others. My dream is to build timeless memories by leaving an influence in society, and BOBTutor is the first step to fulfilling that dream through influencing one person at a time. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing piano, and swimming.

Timothy Gao: Vice-President & Coding Team Leader

Hi! My name is Timothy Gao and I am a Sophomore at Amador Valley High School. As the VP of Bobtutor and Coding Branch Leader, I aim to make the fascinating field of computer science accessible to anyone anywhere. My goal is that through providing as many people as possible the opportunity to learn coding, I can both spark their interest and prepare them for their future in a technology-dominated society. Through interacting with students and tutors of different backgrounds, my perspective on the world was also expanded, and Bobtutor challenged many presumptions I had about people. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, programming, and playing soccer.

Emily Yang: Music Team Leader

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Yang, and I am a junior in high school. I am the current leader and founder of the music branch, and some hobbies that I have are playing and listening to music, bullet journaling, editing videos, eating and making food, and spending time with my friends. Through BOBTutor, I hope to provide everyone the opportunity to learn things like music, English, or math without having to worry about affording the classes. I also hope to plant a seed of passion for learning new things in young children and helping them love the subject they're exploring.

Thomas Zhu: Treasurer

Hello everyone, my name is Thomas Zhu, a freshman at Foothill High School, and I am the treasurer. As treasurer, I hope to help Bobtutor manage its finances to expand. Outside of school and BobTutor, I enjoy playing chess, playing games, playing piano, and hanging out with friends. I am a coding tutor as well, and I hope to get people interested in it. I look forward to working and meeting with all of you!

Jeff Yang: Publicity Officer

Hello everyone, my name is Jeff Yang, a freshman from Amador Valley High School, and I am the public relations officer. My goal is to make the organization bigger and better by finding more tutors, students, and collaborators. Outside of school and BobTutor, I enjoy playing instruments, watching anime, and hanging out with friends. I am also a math tutor in the organization and my goal is to make students be interested in math. I look forward to working and meeting with all of you!

Sophia Yu: Secretary

Hello! I'm Sophia Yu, a sophomore in high school. On the weekends, I enjoy baking, skateboarding/roller skating, playing the piano, and playing tennis in my free time. As a tutor, my goals are to always be punctual, organized, and as effective as possible in providing academic assistance. I hope to encourage my students to put their best efforts into learning and participating.

Erica Lin: English Team Officer

Hi! My name is Erica Lin and I am the team leader for the L1 group in the Bobtutor English Team. I am actively teaching students in Thailand and in South Africa. My experience in tutoring students in L1 allows me to help out other tutors that teach in the L1 group. I am always available to help out with any questions in tutoring, lesson plans or the L1 curriculum. In school, I am a sophomore and I enjoy participating in school events. I am currently studying Spanish and I am fluent in English and Mandarin. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and learning guitar.

Rachel Liang: English Team Officer

My name is Rachel Liang, a sophomore in high school. I am the team leader of Bobtutor's L2 group. I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, photography, piano, ukulele, baking, and cooking. I am able to speak, read, and write English and Cantonese. I would like to tutor and work with kids because growing up, a big part of my academic success was through tutoring. I would love to help others succeed.

Joel Leong: English Team Officer

Greetings! My name is Joel Leong, and I am the leader of the L3 English group. I’m currently teaching a student in South Africa on Saturdays. As an introvert, being a part of the Bobtutor -tutoring students, and having meetings- has helped me improve my social skills and become more responsible. Furthermore, I have learned lots of necessary skills from Bobtutor that I will be able to utilize in the future, such as being a leader and a good team player. At the moment, I am a sophomore in high school and a member of a few clubs. During my free time, I enjoy learning new skills or tricks, playing soccer, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with my friends, whether it be virtually through video games or in person. 

Elizabeth Zhang: English Team Officer

Hi! I'm Elizabeth Zhang, and I am one of the team leaders for the Bobtutor English Team(L4)! I have taught students from South Africa and China, and I assist tutors who teach students in L4. If you ever have questions about the L4 curriculum or need tips on how to teach L4 students, feel free to ask me!  Outside of bobtutor, I am a junior in high school. I am fluent in English, Chinese, and I am studying French. Some of my hobbies include playing the piano, flute, and listening to music.

Sophia Zheng: English Team Officer

Hi, my name is Sophia Zheng and I am Bobtutor's English team leader for the L5 group. I am 17 years old and I live in California, USA. My hobbies include singing, acting, and drawing.

Alan Fang: Program Leader of China Tutoring Program

Hi! My name is Alan Fang, and I'm the China Team lead for the BOBTutor English team. I'm currently a freshman in high school, and I’ve tutored two boys from China for almost a year. In my free time, I play alto saxophone, listen to music (Jazz) and play Squash. In school, I’m currently studying Chinese and Spanish, and I’m fluent in English. I’m also in the Physics and Robotics Club at school. I really enjoy tutoring and I’m excited to get to know more people in the BOB community!

Jason Wu: Program Leader of Pretoria Tutoring Program

Hey! My name is Jason Wu, and I am currently in the 10th grade, and the Program Leader for Pretoria Tutoring. I have taught students in Thailand, Myanmar, and Pretoria. It’s really a tremendous feat of what Bobtutor has become ever since I joined last year in July. I’m grateful for having these experiences in tutoring as I have learned how to better communicate with my peers as a leader, and with my students which I can take into the future. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, chatting with my friends online or face-to-face, and reading.

Jessie Chan: Program Leader of Myanmar Tutoring Program

Hello! My name is Jessie Chan and I am the leader for the Bobtutor Myanmar English program. In addition to leading the program, I work with the M3 teachers and students to create curriculum. Currently, I am a sophomore and some of my hobbies include playing my instruments, cooking, teaching and coding! In my time teaching at Bobtutor, I have seen both students and teachers grow, and look forward to working with more people in the future!

Jonah Wang: Program Leader of Thailand Tutoring Program

Hello! I'm Jonah and I am the lead for the BobTutor Thailand English Branch. I teach English to a student in Pretoria, South Africa and Chang-Mai, Thailand. I also am the lead for our 2021 BobTutor English Summer Camp. Beyond teaching, I love playing the guitar, drums, and singing. 

Nicole Cao: Program Leader of South Africa Tutoring Program

Hi, my name is Nicole Cao and I am a leader of the Bobtutor South Africa program. If you have any questions or are interested in joining the South Africa program, please tell me! I really enjoy working with students of all ages as well as their tutors. Bobtutor is a great opportunity for tutors to use their skills in helping others. Outside of Bobtutor, some of my hobbies are drawing and playing musical instruments.

Ada Liang: Math Team Officer

Hello!! My name is Ada. I manage the math South Africa/Uganda and Pretoria program and have taught local and overseas students. I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and could speak conversational Mandarin. During my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and baking.

Eaton Huang: Math Team Officer

Hello! I'm Eaton, a sophomore in high school and I am the Math Olympiad program leader. My time in the team has allowed me to gain a wider perspective as a teacher as well as a student, and has caused me to realize the importance of being able to put myself in other peoples' shoes. I love to spend quality time with my family, playing Dungeons and Dragons and card games, and on my own time, I enjoy playing the violin and running. I am fluent in English and Chinese and currently learning Spanish!
