Charles Jin: Senior Advisor

Hi! I'm the founder and senior advisor of Bobtutor and have recruited many high school students to become tutors and grow the organization. I enjoy coding, like to develop apps and video games, and research AI. I hope to help connect and improve communities around the world through technology.

April Gong: Senior Advisor

Hello! I am currently a junior in high school and this year, I am serving as the senior advisor of Bobtutor. I enjoy art, coding, and spending time with friends. Being a part of Bobtutor has allowed me to build connections with people from across the world, as well as develop communication and teamwork skills. From my time in this program, I've been able to witness a great deal of growth from both tutors and students who learn from one another, gaining perspective and stepping out of their comfort zones in the process. I look forward to working with and meeting new people!

Richard Bai: Co-President

My name is Richard Bai, a junior in high school. BOBTutor has given me so many beautiful experiences in helping and working with others. The work, no matter how difficult, is always rewarding because I know it will always lead to a result that is beneficial to others. My dream is to build timeless memories by leaving an influence in society, and BOBTutor is the first step to fulfilling that dream through influencing one person at a time. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing piano, and swimming.

Elizabeth Zhang: Co-President

Hi! My name is Elizabeth Zhang, and I am one of the co-presidents of BOBtutor. Overall, I hope to bring together people of various backgrounds through a welcoming learning environment. Outside of BOBtutor, I am a senior in high school. I enjoy playing the piano and the flute, as well as cooking.

Alan Fang: Vice President of English

Hi! I'm Alan Fang and I'm the VP of the English team. In my free time, I enjoy playing the saxophone, reading mystery novels and playing Squash. Within school, I'm a rising sophomore and I'm learning Spanish in addition to my prior knowledge of English. This year, I'm hoping to connect more tutors and students within and outside of BOBAcademy and I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Jeff Yang: Vice-President of Math

Hello everyone, my name is Jeff Yang, a sophomore from Amador Valley High School, and this year I am a Vice President and the math team leader. I hope to bring together people with different backgrounds through a welcoming learning environment for both the students and the tutors. Outside of school and BobTutor, I enjoy playing the guitar, playing video games, cooking, and watching anime. Emily Yang: Vice President of Music & Art

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Yang, and I am a senior in high school. Some hobbies that I have are playing and listening to music, bullet journaling, editing videos, eating and making food, and spending time with my friends. Through BOBTutor, I hope to provide everyone the opportunity to learn things like music, English, or math without having to worry about affording the classes. I also hope to plant a seed of passion for learning new things in young children and helping them love the subject they're exploring.

Skye Kazempour: Secretary

Hi, I'm Skye.  I am a freshman in high school, and I enjoy playing and listening to music, spending time with my two rabbits, and reading.  I joined Bobtutor last year, and I will be secretary this year.  Through Bobtutor, all I want is to teach English and help other tutors.

My name is Jeffrey Zou and I'm a junior at Johnston High School. Some of my hobbies are soccer, video games, hiking, and watching YouTube. I want to develop skills in economics/finance and interact with students and tutors around the world.

Sophia Yu: Public Relations

Hello, my name is Sophia Yu and I tutor English with BOBTutor. My favorite hobbies include painting, skating, playing tennis, playing piano, and exploring new recipes while cooking. My goal as a tutor is to become adept at teaching in a manner that encourages my students to try their best in class.

Nicholas Tang: Public Relations

Hello! I am Nicholas Tang, and I am a current sophomore. In my free time, I like to spend my time playing piano or solving math problems. This year I hope to connect BOBTutor with other organizations, and in doing so, promote our programs, activities, and the BOBTutor organization as a whole. 

Elaine Guo: Marketing Officer

Hello! My name is Elaine Guo, and I am a sophomore. I am one of the marketing officers at BOBTutor, but I also teach in the math programs. Joining this team of hard-working tutors has helped me gain the sense of teamwork. For me, the teaching experience has not only made me more patient, but it has also helped me improve my linguistic skills. Since I can speak both English and Mandarin (and teach in both languages), I have learned how to be more articulate in my lessons over time. I hope I will be able to assist young students as they make their way to success. Some of my hobbies include playing badminton, playing the violin, and reading fiction.

Isabelle Lo: Director of English Team

Hello! My name is Isabelle Lo and I am a junior at Amador Valley High School. Outside of school, I really enjoy reading all sorts of books, gardening, occasionally hiking, hanging out with my little sister and my bird and, of course, tutoring! I hope that through BOBTutor, we can all work together to help more kids learn and develop new skills, and more importantly, have fun in the process.

Olivia Zou: Director of English Team

Hi, my name is Olivia Zou and I'm a sophomore. I'm currently the director of the L2 English group. My hobbies are currently art, graphic design, and playing the piano. Through BOBtutor, I plan to help and be there to support young learners in English and to help them grow and develop in their English skills.

Joel Leong: Director of English Team

Hello! My name is Joel Leong, and I am the leader of the L3 English group. I’m currently in my junior year of high school, and I teach a student in South Africa on Saturdays. During my free time, I enjoy learning new skills or tricks, playing soccer, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with my friends and family. I plan to help children around the world have a better understanding of the English language, meet and build connections with new people, and strengthen certain skills through Bobtutor.

Vivian Shen: Director of English Team

Hi! My name is Vivian and I am the leader of the US program! I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to help both the tutors and the students develop new skills. I look forward to becoming friends with the people in this program and watching their growth through BOBTutor.

Matthew Zhang: Director of English Team

Hello! My name is Matthew Zhang, and I am a junior. I am the group leader for L5 English Group at BOBTutor, and I also teach in L2. Joining Bobtutor was a great way for me to experience the perspective of a teacher; something that I have not experienced many times before. It made me, not only a better teacher, but a better student too. Working with the Bobtutor team was a great experience as I got to make new friends and learn the perspectives of others. I hope to continue to build the interests of children in learning and build their imaginations. Some of my hobbies are playing and composing pieces on the piano.

Anker Zhao: English Program Leader

I am Anker Zhao. I am a rising senior in high school. I am a longtime math tutor for my high school and Urbanpathways Charter School and the advisor for high school Math Club. I joined Bobtutor in March of 2021 and I tutored Math Olympia and Python Summer Camp. I am currently the English Program Leader - China, East Coast.  My other hobbies include playing golf, chess and computer games.

Jason Wu: English Program Leader

Hey! My name is Jason Wu, and I am currently in the 11th grade, and the Program Leader for Pretoria Tutoring. I have taught students in Thailand, Myanmar, and Pretoria. It’s really a tremendous feat of what Bobtutor has become ever since I joined last year in July. I’m grateful for having these experiences in tutoring as I have learned how to better communicate with my peers as a leader, and with my students which I can take into the future. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, chatting with my friends online or face-to-face, and reading.

Andrew Liang: English Program Leader

Hi! My name is Andrew Liang. I am a Senior at the College Preparatory school in the California Bay Area. At school, I enjoy learning science and mathematics. In my free time, I often read fiction novels and play badminton for exercise. English is my native language, I am fluent in Mandarin, and know limited Spanish. Hello! I am Jason Zhang, currently a senior in Dublin High School. I teach Python at BOB Tutor. I like playing Jazz on the piano; I also play guitar and electric bass.
