In this course students will begin the class with some discussion and converstation regarding topics such as: interests, what happened last week, something interesting you did etc.
Following, both the teacher and the student watch short (5-6) min informational videoes. Afterwards, the student will describe something they learned, something interesting or a question they had. This helps the student to establish skills in conversation and comprehend conversations in the video.
Towards the end, the student works through an english book (varies depending on level ) and understands new vocabulary words. After the teacher and the student have worked through each of the words, the student starts on questions meant to gauge their understanding of the word as well as using the word in a sentence.
Course Timeline:
For Level 2, everything outlined in the course will be included, and the english book we will be working through is Wordly Wise Level 2.
After Level 2 has been finished or if the student is at Level 3, we will begin watching harder videos and start working through Wordly Wise Book 3, but with a different website. Through Quizlet, students can have a more challenging test from the words they've learned, and can also work on other activities based on each week's vocabulary words.
